Pregnancy Update: 38 weeks

Okay so FYI, I started making some changes to my blog on Christmas and I was updating the labels on the some posts, when it updated the post it changed the order of the posts and you may have gotten an email saying that I had made some new posts even though I didn't.

Back to our regular blog....

So I had my NST yesterday and the doctor brought up a word I am was not prepared to hear, "Induction". Apparently, they don't want gestational babies going past 40 weeks. So on Friday when I meet with my doctor again I have to set up an induction date for the following week. In shortened terms that means this is my last pregnancy update. It also means this may be the last post for a week or so, while I adjust to new a baby. I don't know when I will post again, hopefully one this week although I will be trying to induce myself, I don't really like the idea of pitocin. So, here's how this week has gone...

This was taken on Saturday we went to see the new Hobbit. This was my. "I am only dressed because I have to be." look. I was rocking the sweats!!

How far along: 38 weeks.
Gender: Girl!! Ainsley! I registered us at the hospital this week, so they will have a bracelet that says Ainsley on it!!
Weight gain:40 lbs, YUCK!!!! Good thing I was 10 lbs smaller this pregnancy because I still am 5 lbs under than when I gave birth to Mackenzie. Although I am 2 weeks extra prego.
Maternity clothes: Yes, when I try to wear regular t shirts, I always regret it. See picture above!
Stretch marks: yes. Still need to try those oils, I think I have given up hope though.
Belly button in or out: I think it is officially an outtie.
Sleep: Still no good.
Miss anything:  I kinda miss work. KINDA
Cravings: Still carbonation!
Queasy or sick: Yes, I was sick early Saturday morning and my super sweet husband watched Max while I slept in. I didn't leave the bathroom from 4am to 6am. I fell back asleep at 6:30 am and didn't wake up until 9:30am. It was so nice. I still felt icky all day and was having contractions all day. I really thought Ainsley was going to come on Saturday.
Looking forward to: Being done I guess. It is so surreal knowing I am going to hold my baby girl within the week!

Last days of just us

I have so much to do before the week ends. I got Ainsley's bag packed but, not mine. I plan on posting pictures and a list of what I took and what I needed after I am home. I did bring up all the baby stuff, play pen, swing and we bought the new car seat. I started washing clothes and made a list of what we still need to find/buy or do. I am trying to soak up what little time I have left of just me and Mackenzie. We watch "Sleeping Beauty" daily, and do her new floor puzzles daily. It's nice just being us! I go through old pictures and reminisce about when she was a little baby. I am excited to expand our family and can't wait to meet this new little one.

Until next time,
Dorinda

Blogmas: Pregnancy Update

Activity: Deliver drink to Grandpa
Scripture: Matthew 2:9-12

After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

How far along: 37 weeks.
Gender: Girl!! Ainsley! World's cutest thing is Mackenzie saying baby sister's name!
Weight gain: 37 lbs, I am still 8 lbs under my birth weight with Max. Hopefully, I can keep it that way.
Maternity clothes: Yes and sometimes Mondo's. I definitely need the length of the maternity tees. She sits so low and sticks out so much, I am carrying her all in front and even tunic shirts are borderline too short.
Stretch marks: yes bleh. Still need to try those oils
Belly button in or out: I think it is as "out" or flat as it can get.
Sleep: Not good. Rolling over is a whole body movement. I have to sit up in bed to accomplish it! Since my hips hurt from the added weight I roll over a lot.
Best moment this week: Getting signed out of work. That's right I am on maternity leave. Home for the holidays!!
Miss anything: Honestly flexibility. Mackenzie wants me to play with her on the floor, which I love to do, getting up off the floor has it's challenges.
Cravings: Lately soda, and it's not the taste it's the carbonation.
Queasy or sick: No
Looking forward to: Christmas being over. I am really excited for Christmas but, I haven't been able to plan or pack for baby because I apparently can't focus on the 2 things. This makes me nervous. I did get a couple of things washed though.

This is officially the longest I have ever been pregnant. Mackenzie came 17 days early and right now I am 17 days away from due date. I am willing and want to wait, the further from the holidays the better. The rest of this adventure is uncharted territory. To help with the patience I remind myself that this is the easy part, the hard part is when I have to pack her around, pack her stuff, tot around a toddler, feed baby, sleep, and people will start to look at me funny when I eat 2 cupcakes.

See you tomorrow with the winner of the leggings!!

Blogmas: Pregnancy Update

Advent Activity: Christmas Craft
Scripture: Luke 2:13-14
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

I think today we will finish our coffee filter snowflakes. This was a simple art project, take a coffee filter spray it down with water then drop food coloring on it. Give your toddler a paintbrush to "paint" in the food coloring. Set aside to dry, cut out snowflakes. Mackenzie loves to paint so this was a great activity for her.

Here is a pregnancy update, along with how my NST's are going.

How far along: 36 weeks.
Gender: Girl!! Ainsley!
Weight gain: 35 lbs, food is my enemy this week.
Maternity clothes: Yes, I found 50 cent maternity shorts, I could not pass them up. If you read yesterday's post you already know I am quite proud of this find.
Stretch marks: yes bleh. Still need to try those oils
Belly button in or out: neither. I don't have a belly button anymore.
Sleep: Not good. I think because it is getting colder, my hips hurt.
Best moment this week: Reduced hours at work have been super nice!!
Miss anything: Getting up easily. I take Max to the library every week and they have a play time, on the floor. Moving station to station is challenging.
Cravings: Nothing in particular, I am seriously always hungry though.
Queasy or sick: No
Looking forward to: I don't even know, lots of things. I am trying to just enjoy the moments.

So as you know my first NST (non stress test) did not go very good. I have found since then the best way to get Ainsley to move is to play her music and the wiggles come out. Specifically "Alive" and "Brighter" from Hillsong Young and Free. Well, this past visit she got stubborn, she has to be Mondo's girl. They strap a heart monitor to my belly to record the baby's heart, to pass the test she needs to kick and have a raised heart rate. This time she decided to kick the heart monitor and at one point completely push against the monitor so it could not record her heartbeat. OMG! Silly girl, we went in to get a ultrasound and since I didn't have a great recorded heartbeat they checked her breathing and she did good. So at least this test did not take as long and went over really well. Now I need to figure out how to keep her away from the monitor. HAHA!!

Although I am done with these tests and really am looking forward to enjoying my baby, she can keep on cooking. I know she is easier to take care of in the belly then out!

Don't forget to enter to win the leggings, I will even ship to whoever wins. So out of towners enter!!

Tomorrow I am posting my mommy to be wish list!!
See you then!

Blogmas day 10: pregnancy update

Advent activity: Christmas movie
Scripture: Matthew 1:22-25

22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[g] (which means “God with us”).

24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

So here is what happened at my doctor appointment. I now have to have NST twice a week due to being on insulin for my gestational diabetes. The doctor said I could bring Mackenzie with me, so I did. Mackenzie did great during the NST and the ultrasound. However Ainsley not so much. She did not want to wake up and wiggle during the NST so, they did an extensive ultrasound to watch her breathing. She didn't want to take a big breath. So after both test not going how they wanted they decided to send me to the hospital for more monitoring. This did not bother me. During both pregnancies I stand on the scripture Philippians 1:6 He who started a good work in me shall finish it. What stressed me out is they said I could be at the hospital for a couple of hours. Really? You expect a toddler who already has been well behaved for 2 hours behave for 2 more. Thus created a meltdown, luckily my mom came and saved the day. She took Max down for some lunch and I was only there for 1 hour. Ainsley decided to wake up and wiggle for the monitor. I know it doesn't sound like much but I felt the stress from it all for a couple of days. So, baby and I are fine and at my NST on Monday baby didn't want to wiggle then either. So I decided to play some music for her, she woke up and passed the test with flying colors. Music it is from now on!

How far along: 35 weeks.

Gender: Girl!! Ainsley!

Weight gain: 35 lbs, food is either my friend or enemy lately. This holiday season has been a challenge.

Maternity clothes: Yes, although my dress for my Christmas party was not. I did find a pretty gold sparkle one for another Christmas party next week!

Stretch marks: yes bleh.

Belly button in or out: neither. I don't have a belly button anymore.

Sleep: Just ok. Turning over is hard and a chore.

Best moment this week: Spending some time with my family!

Miss anything: Indulging in goodies

Cravings: Lots of sweets

Queasy or sick: No

Looking forward to: Honestly Christmas Eve!

See you tomorrow,

Blogmas day 2: Pregnancy Update 34 weeks

I did forget to add yesterday I plan on doing a Christmas scripture advent with Mackenzie. Each night we will read scriptures about Jesus' birth. Yesterday was John 1:1-5

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.

Today is: Isaiah 9:2-7

The people walking in darkness
    have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
    a light has dawned.
You have enlarged the nation
    and increased their joy;
they rejoice before you
as people rejoice at the harvest,
as warriors rejoice
    when dividing the plunder.
For as in the day of Midian’s defeat,
    you have shattered
the yoke that burdens them,
    the bar across their shoulders,
    the rod of their oppressor.
Every warrior’s boot used in battle
and every garment rolled in blood
will be destined for burning,
will be fuel for the fire.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
    there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
    and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
    with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
    will accomplish this.

I invite you to join us as we read these scriptures each day!

Yesterday for Blogmas Max and I had a dance party! It was so fun and she loved the freeze game. Whenever the music stopped she would put her hands up and say "freeze". HAHA!! Today's activity is too bake goodies. It is my birthday and I want goodies. We will start off with some red velvet pancakes and then I have to run off to a couple of doctor appointments and after nap we will make some cookies!! Mackenzie's favorite place to be is in the kitchen helping cook!! Here is a quick update!!

The weeks are just flying by, every time I blink a new week has gone by.
Just last week I was driving to go pick up my husband, Max was in the car and she starts blabbing about baby sister in mommy's tummy. I chimed in saying, "Mackenzie in 8 weeks (at that time) you can hug and kiss baby sister, she will be here." Mackenzie responded; "hug baby sister?" I said; "Sure, thing baby. She won't be in mommy's tummy forever." Mackenzie then started to babble about something else. I was telling my husband the story after we picked him up, he interrupted and said "8 weeks!!!" I said "Honey, she is 50 days away." He sat there shocked doing the math in his head; "Wow! that's not far away." I just laughed. So, yes baby Ainsley will be here in less than 50 days!! I am not done being pregnant, she is easier to contain and care for in the tummy. I am done with the discomfort and lack of mobility. I went to Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 with a couple of girlfriends. Man, those seats are uncomfortable (which none prego, I like to think they are comfy) and at the end of the movie from sitting straight up and down my feet were swollen! Ugh! I am patient though, she can keep baking for 6 more weeks!!

How far along: 34 weeks.

Gender: Girl!! Ainsley!

Weight gain: 33 lbs, food has been a major weakness lately.

Maternity clothes: Yes, I found my favorite jeans from when I was prego with Max making for a good day!

Stretch marks: Still putting on my cream. A friend recommended some oils, I plan on trying those out soon!!!

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: Hasn't been as good. Although no need for naps lately. Having a pillow between my knees helps with the hips and one under the belly helps with the pain from the weight. I plan on getting a body pillow soon, just every time I go shopping I forget to get one. HAHA!!

Best moment this week: Seeing Mockingjay was definitely a highlight!! Of course yummy turkey on Thanksgiving!! Lasting for 12 hours on Black Friday was huge!! I rewarded myself with pedi and oreo mcflurry!! I can't believe I lasted the whole time!! Got some good deals too!

Miss anything: I work outside and to make it doable I have some great coveralls. They barely fit and the extra layer makes moving extra difficult, I can't wait until moving is easy again.

Cravings: Not really, I just like eating bad for me food.

Queasy or sick: No, I did have an actual sick spell one morning a couple of weeks ago. That wasn't fun! Other than that all good!

Looking forward to: Christmas!! Most of my shopping is done and it's so nice to be able to relax and not worry about fitting in shopping time. We still have some crazy schedule stuff coming up so I will take it easy in the meantime.

Don't forget to enter the Lularoe legging giveaway. Here is the link for the giveaway and yesterday's blogmas!!

Pregnancy Update/ Baby Name Bracket Update

29 weeks Mackenzie                      28 weeks Baby #2

I found this picture of me at 29 weeks Pregnant with Mackenzie and I thought I would share a side by side to see the difference.

How far along: 28 weeks

Gender: Girl!!

Weight gain: 28 lbs. I lost 7 lbs this last month. The doctor kinda freaked. Then I told her we were on the Whole 30 and she was excited, said that is the best food for me and baby. She also measured my tummy and it's still growing so she knows the weight loss is me and not baby! Yay!

Maternity clothes: Yes, I did buy some non-maternity from LuLaRoe that I plan on featuring soon. So be watching for that!!

Stretch marks: I still have them but, I am putting on cream twice a day! Which reminds me... I need more.

Belly button in or out: In although very shallow. HAHA

Sleep: With this diet I have noticed better sleep and a better schedule. I fall asleep so fast now! Wake up naturally and ready to go, also I don't feel the need for a nap. I still take some but, I don't NEED them.

Best moment this week: Going back to part time and hanging out with Max!!!

Miss anything: Yes, Candy bars, milk, cheese, hot cocoa, pie, bread!! That's not due to pregnancy though, HAHA, it's this diet that I love/hate!!!

Cravings: See note above!!!!! I can add pizza, cheeseburgers, french fries (fried in bad fat!).

Queasy or sick: No

Looking forward to: So much!!! Halloween which marks the end of the diet, our anniversary, we are getting awayish! The holidays, Black Friday. My list can go on!!!

We actually have completely narrowed down the name but, for now I will just give you the top 2. I haven't decided when I will reveal the name. I want it to be a fun post!
